The West Midlands and the wider UK need to reduce pressure on health and care systems, helping citizens to better manage their own health. WM5G working with Partners has enabled Care Providers, The NHS, Clinical Commissioning Groups, Local Businesses & Mobile Network Operators to join forces and prove the benefits of 5G technology with workable solutions ready for implementation at scale.
Out of a series of engagement events, and informed by the changing demands created by COVID-19, we showcased three key 5G Solutions in the below project areas:
- Connected ambulances to improve at-scene and in-transit care
- Remote monitoring and support of care home patients
- Home delivery of endoscopy services to help tackle bowel cancer
Following the success of our three project areas, WM5G launched The Connected Healthcare Programme (CHP) to support more businesses in the Healthcare Sector in developing digital ways to do things better.
