As a result of a study analysing 5G coverage across the UK’s Combined Authority areas, DCMS has placed the West Midlands first for 5G across the UK’s combined Authority and has ranked Birmingham as the number one city for 5G coverage among the UK’s top six cities.
The study was carried out by the 5G Testbeds and Trials programme, the government’s nationally coordinated programme of investment in 5G.
In an article by Business & Innovation Magazine breaking the news, our work has been recognised as being instrumental in the region being the best 5G connected in the UK, highlighting our work with mobile network operators and local authorities to break down barriers to in 5G infrastructure deployment.
