Members of the WM5G board and our leadership team will be representing the rollout of 5G across the region at the Midlands Forum for Growth this November.
Ian Martin, Director of Investment & Commercial Activities, and Lesley Holt, Head of Communications & Stakeholder Management, will be attending the three day virtual convention.
The first ever online Midlands economic growth forum, the Midlands Forum for Growth is the official investment conference for the region.
This ‘economic growth’ conference is led by England’s leading pan-regional partnership, the Midlands Engine Partnership, and brings together more than 150 Public and Private sector organisations from across the Midlands, the UK and overseas, to achieve the region’s vision for greater sustainable growth and economic prosperity.
With contributions and engagement from major investors from across the market, the dynamic and interactive three-day virtual event will take place on 24th – 26th November 2020, 9.30am – 1.15pm each day.
WM5G will be represented on the conference’s second day, with Ian Martin presenting a talk on how 5G will be a growth enabler for the West Midlands and beyond. Ian’s presentation will begin at 10:30AM.
Later on the same day, at 12:10PM, Lesley Holt will be taking part in a panel discussion discussing cutting edge technologies. Titled Cutting Edge Technology – Leading the Way! The panel will discuss the following topics:
- What technologies underpin future economic growth?
- How can the Midlands capitalise on new technology?
- How can Public and Private sectors work together for mutual gain?
- What will a fully equipped smart city look like?
- What can it deliver to businesses and employees?
With the theme for 2020 being “The Future. Ours to Make.” 5G will have a big role to play. This theme underpins the region’s vision for greater sustainable growth and economic prosperity, and the huge scope for investment as the Midlands region builds back stronger, better and greener.
The conference will be held entirely on a digital platform with delegates able to connect, send messages, and arrange meetings in the lead up to, and during the conference.
All presentations and panel discussions will be streamed live and available on the virtual event platform for you to view at your leisure over the three days. So if you miss a session, you can still catch the video online.
